Steve Clarke

It is ten years since Steve was our Curate here in Frinton and many of you still support him in prayer and keep in touch. Steve has been appointed Vicar of All Saints, Hyams Park. This is a parish in great need of revival and building-up and is ideal for them as a family. The boys will not have to change school and the girls will be able to get to work and college.

It is a challenge that he feels sure he can take on with Gods' help and our prayer support.

Walton Sea Cadets

Sea Sunday 17th July 2011

25 Walton Junior and Senior cadets attended the Sea Sunday Service on the 17th July at Frinton-on-Sea. St Mary‟s Church was transformed into the deck of HMS Victory with a panoramic life-size backdrop. There are not many Commanding Officers who will drive all the way down to Portsmouth just to take a picture of Lord Nelson’s historical deck, but Lieutenant Gary Dodd is certainly dedicated to his cadets! The cadets helped Unit Padre Don Smith, a Newhaven Sea Cadet in his youth, to put on an exciting and lively service. The Juniors entertained the whole congregation with a full Hornpipe dance routine down the aisle of the church. Readings were also given by Marine Cadet 2nd Class Lawrence O'Connell, Marine Cadet Sarah Hawes, Petty Officer Cadet Tom Horton, Able Cadet Charlie Rainbird, Cadet Madison Carpenter, Petty Officer May Andrews and Unit Administrator Margaret Andrews.

The Strongest Tree

On Saturday 5th February 2011, Jenny Rose, a member of the congregation, signed copies of her biography 'The Strongest Tree' at Caxtons, the local bookshop in Connaught Avenue.

The book is a story of God's triumph over adversity in her life, and may be obtained, price £7.99, from Caxton's or the Church Office.
