Crosslinks
Crosslinks is one of the main missionary societies we support at St Mary’s. We meet to pray for the work of Crosslinks at 3.00pm on the first Thursday of each month at 6 Holmbrook Way, Frinton.
We have recently seen a young family, Gad and Liz Numadi with their two children, go from this church to Lomé, the capital of Togo, West Africa, as Crosslinks Mission Partners. We have regular news from them through monthly prayer letters and two members of the church have visited them recently to help in their work with disabled children.
Gad and Liz are involved in many projects covering three main areas of work:
Training church leaders and children’s workers in children’s ministry
- Offering training at three levels, as well as advice and training in the area of child protection.
Outreach to children
- Visiting young people in the local Youth Detention Centre and older inmates in the adult Prison.
- Organising a Christian football club of presently thirty-five members with the opportunity to learn teamwork, make friends and hear about Jesus.
Providing for the social and developmental needs of children within communities
- Managing a support group for families with disabled children.
- Supporting the work in a school for children with disabilities by training volunteer staff.
- Maintaining links with Ando Bedo, a remote village with many needs, including a clean water supply, where Gad has overseen the provision of a toilet block and Liz has given training in public health. Liz (formerly a senior lecturer in nursing) and a doctor friend have also established an open-air clinic to dress wounds and provide health checks for the villagers. Gad and Liz run a children’s church, where many of the parents have also become Christians.

Crosslinks is an international mission society with its roots in the Bible. It works largely within the worldwide Anglican community. Their aim is to make Jesus Christ known through the teaching of God's word in the power of the Holy Spirit. In doing that they also organise gospel partnerships across cultural boundaries.
God's word is the authority for their work, and they aim is to be continually creative in mission, developing fresh ways of taking God's Word to God's world.
