Persecuted Church
There are millions of persecuted Christians around the world suffering discrimination, violence and often imprisonment. As a church, we seek to support them with our prayers and encourage them to remain faithful to the Lord as they are subjected to many pressures tempting them to give up their faith.
From time to time we have speakers from organisations - such as Open Doors opendoorsuk.org and the Barnabas Fund barnabasfund.org - who campaign for the well-being of persecuted Christians, and tell current news on the state of many countries where it is not safe or convenient to be a Christian.

O Lord God, in our health and wealth, we don’t want to forget what we call the “Persecuted Church.” We hear of so many of our spiritual brothers and sisters around the world who have lost their freedom, and often their lives, because of their allegiance to you. Be close to them in their pain and grief, especially as they see their families torn apart because of their faith. Confound those whose aim is to destroy the Christian faith, and strengthen those who fight for justice and for the opportunity for people of different faiths to live peaceably together.
