Soup Run
Every night at 8 o’clock, those in need gather around a table on a car park in Clacton for soup, hot drinks, sandwiches, biscuits, crisps and sometimes fruit.
Members of churches in Clacton and Frinton staff the “Soup Run”; it's St Mary’s turn every Tuesday. Church members are on a rota to help or to provide sandwiches. Sometimes people provide other goodies, such as mince pies at Christmas.
The visitors are often lonely people, grateful for a mug of soup and a meeting place where they can see a friendly face, or find someone to listen to them.
Tins of drinking chocolate, coffee & tea bags, biscuits, crisps, cartons of orange juice ....... all would be very much appreciated. Cash donations to buy fruit and soft drinks are also welcome.
Suitable contributions can be left at the Church Office - or in the marked bin at the back of the church. Non-perishable food is also welcome in the bin at the back of the church.
