Home and Hospital Visits
Christ calls us to love God with all our heart, our soul, our mind and our strength and to love our neighbours as ourselves. (Luke10:27) In doing this we live in the covenant of the new commandment. We aim to ensure a confidential system of Pastoral Care for all Church Members; older people, frail, unwell or with long term illness, bereaved, in hospital, parents, single parents, families, those who live alone.
The Pastoral Care Action Group has developed a team to visit people at home, to pray, to offer occasional practical support or advice when necessary and if appropriate. We can also arrange Communion at Home and Prayer for Healing.
For those who now live alone
We meet every Wednesday morning from 10.30 – 12 noon for Coffee and Chatter. It is a mixed group of people who have been bereaved and want to enjoy a social time with others. We have a hot meal on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 12.15 to 1.30pm and on the 2nd Wednesday of the month we have a light cold lunch from 12.15 – 1.15pm. You are very welcome to join us.
Hospital Visiting
We currently have 2 people who are part of the Hospital Chaplaincy Visiting Scheme. They visit the hospital regularly once a week on different days, currently on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you are in hospital, or know some who is, they will be happy to come and visit you, pray with you and generally keep you in touch with our Church whilst you are in Hospital.
