Weddings

If you or your parents or grandparents live in Frinton, you are eligible to be married in either St Mary's Parish Church, Old Road or the Old Church at the sea-end of Connaught Avenue. Weddings are usually booked early, with some summer dates being booked up to two years in advance. You should contact the church office in the first instance, on 01255 679164, and download the ‘banns of marriage’ form (click download below), which should be filled out and sent to enquiries@stmarysfrinton.org or posted to:
St Mary’s Parish Church Office, Old Road, Frinton CO13 9BX
You will then meet with the rector, Rev'd Don Smith, to discuss your wedding plans and book a date. Wedding preparation classes are held and some Sunday church attendance is encouraged. Suggestions for hymns and readings can also be found below.
For 2011, the basic cost of a (Church of England) wedding was £262, but this might increase slightly this year. It covers the church and the priest. Additional costs are; flowers, choir, and hall hire. The rector reserves the right whether or not to re-marry divorcees.
