Letting Jesus Heal

Earlier in the year we ran a 6 session course “Letting Jesus Heal,” in Christian Healing inspired by Revd John Ryeland from The Christian Healing Mission (CHM) in Hammersmith, London.

Here at St Mary’s we were led by our Rector Rev’d Don Smith and it proved to be an amazing experience for many of us.  We were taken aback by the number of people wanting to learn more about the ministry of healing.  We had 89 people register on the course coming not only from our church but also from other churches in the district.  Rev’d Don led us through the practical and biblical aspects in praying for healing.  This was backed by using the DVDs produced by CHM. There was opportunity to share with one another, inlcuding practising the ministry of healing prayer on each other.  All was done in what was clearly a safe and supportive environment and as a result we were blessed as we saw God at work.

Since then, St Mary's has become one of CHM's official "Link Centres" meaning that people from our area can be referred to us by CHM for prayer ministry, rather than them having to travel to London.

It is our intention to make this type of ministry a regular part of our worship, and we look forward to opportunities in the future to share amongst others what we have experienced and learnt.

We also plan to arrange Occasional Special Services in the future, with a particular emphasis on the ministry of healing. These will be open to everyone.
