What next?
Dear Brothers and Sisters of St Mary's,

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
With the Easter celebration finished, the joy of the risen Lord remains in us,
for this is the hope that we as Christians have. Death has been defeated.
The power of sin has been broken because of Jesus' death and resurrection. Alleluia!
I wonder if, like me, you have put back on the winter jumpers, coats, and winter gloves this week. Changes in the weather! It’s May, how can this be? It was only last week that I wore my T-shirt and sunglasses, and I even saw people at the beach applying sun cream. As I reflected on this change, I set my mind on the unchanging character of God. We can’t set our hopes on the weather or on things that the world may even offer. It will all change. But I write to you in this month of May, to set your face as a flint on the unchanging, unwavering character of God.
Whatever change we see in the weather, we can’t seem to explain it even with
knowledge of climate change. Change also takes place in our lives.
We have seasons that we can’t explain. But, whatever change takes place in our lives, I say
to you brothers and sisters, let us set our hope on the Lord our God, who does not change.
Malachi 3:6 I am the Lord, and I do not change.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.
So let us be encouraged. We serve an Unchanging God. We can trust in Him.
With encouragement to those who have yet to know the Lord God who doesn’t change,
we invite you to come to St Mary’s or visit a church near you and ask
about Jesus, the unchanging risen Lord.
Just as God doesn’t change, his plans and love for you do not change.
