Weddings

Signing the RegisterIf you or your parents or grandparents live in Frinton, you are eligible to be married in either St Mary's Parish Church, Old Road or the Old Church at the sea-end of Connaught Avenue. You may also be able to marry at one of our churches if you have some other connection to the town. Please discuss this with the Rector. St Marys Old ChurchWeddings are usually booked early, with some summer dates being booked up to two years in advance.

In the first instance you should complete the
'Life Events Enquiry Form'
at the bottom of this webpage.

You will then meet with the rector, Rev. Don Smith, to discuss your wedding plans and book a date. Wedding preparation classes are held and some Sunday church attendance is encouraged. Here are some suggestions for hymns and readings.

The basic cost of a (Church of England) wedding is between £500 and £800, depending on the time of year and other options. It covers the church and the minister. To this you might choose to add, organist, choir, verger, sound engineer, hall hire, flowers, etc.

The rector reserves the right whether or not to re-marry divorcees.
