The Alpha CourseThis ten-session practical introduction to the Christian faith provides an opportunity to explore the meaning of life.
 
Alpha includes a video presentation followed by discussion in a small group. There is usually a meal to start as well!

What was Alpha like? - Autumn 2014

We have been Christians for only 3 years, and found the Alpha course a wonderful opportunity to both refresh and increase our understanding of the Word of God.  The warm welcome we received set the tone for the whole 10-week course: lovely food, a hot drink, and inclusion.

In each session a DVD presentation (by members of the West London Church which began Alpha courses) helped our grasp on the week’s subject, using current day examples, analogies and scripture. The 10-week course is an amazing journey of learning about Jesus, why he died for us, prayer, the Holy Spirit, the church's role, healing, and other important facets of the New Testament.  Informal group discussion helped each participant understand how the topic was relevant today, and will be in the future, with questions encouraged.

By the end of the course we had made new friends, strengthened relationships, and had 10 wonderful evenings out!  We would certainly recommend this course for all sorts of people - young Christians, people thinking about becoming Christians, AND people who are already Christians - as we all still have a wonderful opportunity to learn what life really IS all about!
